Windows 7 beta users get AutoUpdate patch, fixes MP3 corruption issue Redmond (WA) - An MP3 corruption issue in Windows 7 beta Build 7000 that was downloaded by countless millions last week has now been distributed via Automatic Update. The patch, KB961367, was available soon after the beta release but required a manual Windows Update to receive. The MP3 corruption issue would permanently delete several seconds at the beginning of each MP3 file, replacing them with silence, if the MP3 meta data was edited and was 16KB or larger (which is very large and atypical). As a result, many users were not affected by this issue, though Microsoft was quick to release the patch. Microsoft addressed other issues with the patch, including Protected tuning source issues, MHEG (iTV), series recording may fail if Vista upgrade and additional Windows Medial Player issues. http://www.tgdaily.com/html_tmp/content ... 8-140.html
