Re: I need advice on how to create a graphite looking gradient.
It appears to be a gradient using two colors. The top color is #424242 and the bottom color is #040404. If there is a texture on there I am missing it... however you can just find a texture image of graphite and lay it over the top of your layer and then mess with the blending modes and opacity. A few google searches for blending modes and/or textures should do the trick.
